A meeting of minds – Livestock and Fish program kicks off collaboration with SNV

Following the recent signing of a MOU between the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, staff from SNV’s global Dairy and Extensive Livestock Commodity Teams met in Nairobi on 27 May 2014 with scientists from ILRI and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) to map interests and expertise as a basis for further collaboration. Livestock and Fish team assesses aquaculture opportunities in Bangladesh

In 2013, the Livestock and Fish CGIAR Research Program added Bangladesh as its second aquaculture value chain after Egypt. Fish is the most important food after rice in Bangladesh, in addition Bangladesh is the world’s fifth largest aquaculture producer.

2014 CGIAR-US university linkages call for proposals

As last year, USAID has provided $US 107,800 to promote linkages between the livestock and fish research program and United States universities.
